For millennia, the moccasined feet of hunters
and fishers traversed the isthmus between the Rideau and Mud (Newboro)
Lakes. European explorers and missionaries, traders and pioneers
followed.
Due to it's prime location, surrounded by
waterways, Newboro thrived as a place of trade and commerce in
throughout the 19th century. Now it has become a popular vacation
spot.
